Email your MP about the CIS security guards dispute at National Gallery

PCS members and supporters are asked to use this e-action to write to their MPs requesting they support the PCS campaign for fair pay and decent conditions for CIS Security Guards at the National Gallery.

The National Gallery is a living wage accredited employer. However, directly employed staff receive a London Living Wage uplift 6 months before our members working for CIS Security do. Our members work side by side everyday with directly employed National Gallery staff. There’s no reason they should spend 6 months earning less than the living wage.

Security Guards are forced to use dangerous basement facilities for their breaks, when the majority white gallery staff have access to an award-winning ‘accommodation hub’. Instead, our members are restricted to a windowless basement area that is dingy, dirty, and dark. It is also unventilated and accessible only by ducking under pipes.
