Email your MP to protect jobs and services in MHCLG

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has announced it intends to close six offices in Birmingham, Exeter, Newcastle, Sheffield, Warrington and Truro. At the same time the department is seeking to introduce restrictions on recruitment and continues to implement a 60% office attendance mandate.

PCS members who work for the department are concerned about the impact this will have on local jobs and the services that MHCLG delivers.

MHCLG has offices across the UK often in the most deprived areas of our country, working to support local authorities and local communities. Moving jobs away from these local areas could have a detrimental impact on the department's ability to deliver on important issues such as rebuilding local governments, tackling homelessness and ensuring safe and affordable housing.

It is vital that staff can continue to work in the communities they serve, delivering local expertise on what matters to local people, whilst retaining and growing an inclusive and diverse workforce.

Please take two minutes to email your local MP to support this important campaign.
